The ECU (Electronic Control Unit) is basically a device in the engine to determine the optimum fuel to be used. This is supposed to be better in terms of fuel efficiency and performance. I'm not really sure if you mean clearing or cleaning but clearing the ECU would mean clearing or resetting the control codes in the ECU and reprogramming it. Something like a format of the computer and then upgrade to the next better version of the OS.Originally posted by takumi_sg:Wad does clearing of ECU does and wad it means....and how do i increase the no. on my techometer![]()
In SGP it can be done cos when u put in Lighter Pistons the engine's RPM increases thats ok... increasing the Bore and stroke(displacement) is a No-no..cos i know alot of EVOs and JDM cars put in lighter pistons for their engines....even my dad used 2 do that in his MercOriginally posted by Impreza WRX:As for increasing the tacho range, what do you mean, in real life or ID? In real life, that's illegal in Singapore. In ID, only the AE86 can do this, I think you need to use Tune A and reach a certain number of points. At least that's what my friend told me.
Thx for telling me bout all the things tat i wanna neoOriginally posted by Impreza WRX:The ECU (Electronic Control Unit) is basically a device in the engine to determine the optimum fuel to be used. I wasn't just referring to a minor improvement in performance of the vehicle. What happened to the AE86 in ID wasn't just putting in a new tachometer. It don't work that way. You need to do a major (minor, if you're BuntaOriginally posted by AE86tofu:In SGP it can be done cos when u put in Lighter Pistons the engine's RPM increases thats ok... increasing the Bore and stroke(displacement) is a No-no..cos i know alot of EVOs and JDM cars put in lighter pistons for their engines....even my dad used 2 do that in his Merc
The tunes help in terms of acceleration and top speed. This will affect your handling/turning the car at corners since you are going faster. If you look at some cars which are fully tuned and you have the same car but not fully tuned, you can see the difference.Originally posted by takumi_sg:can any one tell me how does tuning improve the performance of the car in initial D....and you can post anything in here frm now on!!!![]()
