or middle of it...to cure understeer and makle your rear slide...hence clear corner easy without banging... -
to me choke gear i has a totally different meaning and usage....1) shift the gear up down up down in a faster way loh

1) grab the gear stick with both hands
2) start choking the life out of it with both hands
3) don't stop till the gearstick is dead(or until the arcade owner throws u out, which ever 1st) -

downshifting means what??..
that is to change the higher gear to a lower gear
what HENG mentioned is correct..
in the game, we do that action to have that similar effect..its not down shift the gear..so they call it gear choking.. -
