On the first page of this forum, there are some self intro's around. Right now, I am an NUS 3rd year guy. Listening to 933 for a looong time already... since its birth in fact. Sherv's in NUS too.... year 2 i think. Joanne > Welcome.... there aren't that many 17/18 year olds who like Jieqi's program. I gotta feeling the majority of people who complaint about him are under 20.

yah, i read abt the intro u all made..hmm..i listen to 933 v long liao also...since i was in pri sch..i remember the first day that 933 started..i think i was onli pri2 or so.. many DJs have joined n left..n yah, jieqi is of course my favourite DJ..y i like him..hmm..cos i love the songs he play..v emotional type of songs..n he v sensual type. n he just have a sense of charm n he is a v sensitive guy lohz, not just normal guys..simply love the old songs he play..but i realise something.jieqi everytime surely will play rene liu's song..without fail..haha..but nvm..i love her songs too!

One thing to note is that Jieqi more often than not will play TWO of Rene's songs. He will play one song at the start of his program and will play another towards the end, sometimes during the 'live' hour between 7 and 8 pm. Rene's singing is actually so-so... no powerful vocals (in fact quite weak), voice isn't too sweet, not that much emotions BUT somehow, all her hits are good, from "Ta Le Yi B Yao Shi Gei Ni" to "Cheng Quan", they are all very enjoyable.
Somehow, Sandy, Julia, Cass and many other singers can outsing Rene any time. It is just that Rene got a good song and she has a certain qi zhi when singing. Oh yes... Rene can act well....
Jieqi likes to air Shino's "Xin Dong", some of Wan Fang's songs, Chen Qizhen's "Hai Shi Hui Ji No" but definitely, guarantee-or-your-money-back, "liu lian bao chiah", there will be one Rene song for Rene fans like me to be happy about. -

Hmm... Just like the songs he play... ever so nice and soothing... Sometimes, when I listen to his songs, they will evoke me to think about indepth stuff. Sometimes, when I'm sad, I will feel better after listening to his music.
I like the songs he play also cos the lyrics are usually meaningful... For example, Zhang Ai Jia's "Ying Wei Ji Mo"... At first when I hear that song, not really impressive, nothing much... then one day, I hear it n it suddenly become apparent n similar to what is going on in my life, and then evoke a lot of thoughts again...
Now Jieqi's top favourite is "Yuan Zou Gao Fei". Always sure play one... and sometimes, after playing Sandy's song, he will play Li Zhong Sheng's "Ji Mo Nan Nie"... And usually he will also play Zhang Ai Jia and David Tao song...
Haven't hear "Wo Dao Di Shu Hu Le Ni She Mo" recently...

Something terrible happened on the chatroom last Sat...people were attacking Jieqi and it sort of pissed him off.
Actually...i still like Mali, Lingzhi and Shihan...actually...Jieqi can't really switch the songs...but seriously...if this is routine it can get sian...

actually quite true that jieqi always play the same songs but becos the songs he play all very nice thats y ppl like me n the few of us here likes him so much...hee...yah, i heard from the radio last week that ppl purposely provoke jieqi n made him v pissed off..n he said that he will not come to chatroom anymore lehz...he say if we wanna tok to him then write to him..so i think this saturday even if we come in the chatroom he also not going to be here...
well, mentioned earlier abt rene liu..her songs v nice mahz..although her voice not so power but she realli sings well i think.. n she is v pretty also! got charisma... last last week jieqi played wo dao di shu wu le ni she men...n this song has been v meaningful ever since i heard a story during music diary..i think i highly recommend music diary by lin zhi...just too nice...if u all have not realise it! *smilez* -
wat is jieqi's once-a-week routine compared to the everyday quan-dao-shou-bo or those everyday-oso-played songs?
everyday listen 5 times oso will sianz.

wat is 1 hr in a week considered?
very little......1/168 days lor, or 0.006 days.
anyway, jieqi isn't that routine, he doesn't stick to tat few songs only....
it's juz the certain type of songs he chooses, tat makes his style/show stand out....

today JieQi host 12pm to 4pm slot leh...weird weird one...heng i nothing to do switch on radio, otherwise missed it liao

well, seriously, i tot dat nobody can please everybody...i dun tink Jieqi will b so childish lah...he himself also noe mah...yah...todae Jieqi a bit "shou mang jiao luan"....hahhahah...mayb diff slot...bu xi guan...i like his bei jing yin yue-"Dream a little Dream"...

With the new time slot, it feels a bit funny. I am too used to listening to Jieqi and the songs he airs with the sunset. Without the sunset, it is less melancholic... this takes away a little of the charm.
What's more, the 12-4 slot is a busier slot in the sense that it is when the promotions usually take place eg. KIA Motors promoting their latest cars. 4-8 pm is a 'quieter' slot with fewer interruptions, albeit there is the 4D results and remnants from the earlier promotions. A quieter slot implies that we can hear more of Jieqi and his selections.
BUT, I'm not complaining! Becos I usually have something on every Saturday afternoon to night which means I usally miss his shows totally. To be able to catch him from 12-2+ pm is good enuff for me. That day, I actually tuned in just before 2 pm and had to switch off just before 3 pm. I didn't know it was him hosting the show but the songs did sounded a little suspicious. Then, I heard his voice and I knew it. I was hoping Sherv, Liyan, Ott, Joa, Zilc and gang were tuned in at that time. Although it was just an hour, there were a few songs aired on last Saturday which I liked- Sandy's Chong Yu, Power Station's, Zhang Aijia's... etc I was smiling to myself the entire time. People on the bus thought I was nuts!
Maybe we should exchange pager and handphone numbers eh? If Jieqi has a new slot, we can contact each other and tune in. (Ladies, I can understand if you have reservations about this. On the other hand, we can just tune in at 12 noon, 2 pm and 4 pm on Saturdays to find out for ourselves.)

Anyway...I am neutral towards weibin...but wat irks me is that she allows dedication to be made in the chat room and causes the room to be flooded...and hard to chatters to chat...and she isn being so inconsiderate tat she does not spare a thought for mary...coz mary dun take chatroom dedication and tis might lead to comparison between her and mary...and soon people would start to dislike and criticise mary lor. -
helloz! well, actually last sat i noe that jieqi is on duty cos he mentioned the week before..but that day i woke up v late so when i remembered to tune in..it was 3pm already!so i just heard part of his programme..next week jieqi will not be on duty..he's buzy..well, hmm..the replacement for mary is both xiaoping n weiping...i called in during xiaoping's slot...she is v friendly lohz...v nice n ping yi jing ren.. but of course mary is v nice too! hmm..then i think in comparison, weibing not that nice lohz...

Recently I started to tune in on Saturday after 12noon... I almost missed Jieqi also... I was chased out of my comp lab, so no mp3 to listen then listen to FM... then hear Jieqi and my favourite "Dream a little dream..." Yeah... I think the music didn't sound as sentimental compared to when listening to it during dusk...

The other day, I saw Jieqi on TCS 8 news and he was commenting on the Oscars. Didn't know he looked like that. Quite different from what I expected actually, especially the hair style.... (hey! I am not complaining.) A guy with a rather thick pair of glasses that belies the intelliegence beneath them, with really short hair, speaking fluently in Mandarin.....
So now, I know how the guy behind that voice and those fantastic songs on Saturdays looks like.
