Hey... you sound like some expert in love.. been in and out of love many times? (It is okay if you don't want to answer that.) For me, I was never attached.... too ugly, too bad personality for that to happen. So... most my concepts on things like that are from books, observations and friend's experiences. Although I am a guy, I don't have much confidence in guys... most guys I know are out for 'fun' or 'play play' in a relationship. You should see how many guys actually sleep around despite being attached. From there, plus those song dedication programs, I have little or no faith in relationships. Relationships these days are so cheap, having lost its value and sanctcity. (I know, there are exceptions and I congratulate those who belong to that category.)

Receivers these days are pretty cheap. Can consider buying one. Try to get a Sony.... they last longer and sound better. It is good to listen to Jieqi's program on the bus... I remember one weekend where I in a bus travelling along Bedok Reservoir during sunset. The tinted glass on the aircon bus made the sunset even nicer..... plus Jieqi's song, and remember the reflection in the water... I nearly died on the spot.... -

Yah... if you have a bigger budget, then go for a digital receiver. They might cost 1.5 times more. Those with dials and knobs and what-nots tend to be less sensitive. What's more? You can tune to within 0.05 of a meaghertz with a digital one. 0.05 of a meg of difference can be big, especially listening to Xin Dong that Jieqi always airs.
Perhaps I am prejeudiced... but I really swear by Sony. For a Sony product to make it to the market, do you know how many times it has been shot down even while it is still in R&D? Sony engineers are really excruciating people. (BTW, Sony is a major shareholder of Aiwa.) What's more? I have NEVER been failed by a Sony. Phillips and Panasonic conks out after a while. But NEVER Sony, at least for me. Take it from the EE student that Sony is the best! -

as for my reciever, i got $$ to buy, but since i am already bring my discman with mi everywhere i go, bringing a reciever is like very 'guai'. Like very busy hor, asif got time listen to discman and reciever at the same time like that...hehe
anyway, reciever what brand i dunno would be good, but one thing is for sure, Sony discman cannot listen to pirated CD...dun ask mi how i noe...i just noe, but not from experience. all the same, my discman is a Sony.
JieQi do kai fang re xian, occasionally lar. i heard it on air before...but he very bad one lar, seldom open line one, then we must write to him or send him a email...
but really lor, let me choose, i sure wun type him email one...have to type in english then waste his time to translate to the best context. so best is write him a letter, in chinese of course, otherwise defeat the purpose. -

Yerp.. I face the same problem too.. not that many people I think worth dedicating songs to listen in to 933.
Speaking of dedications, it DOES help to uplift the spirits if one receives a dedication. I remember recieving a Xiang Ge Ji Yi (XGJY) in sec 4 and I felt good for a while. In jc, two pple (one classmate, one ECA mate) told me some gal dedicated a song to me over XGJY. Although I took it that they were pulling my leg, the very thought of getting a dedication does lift my spirits! Thanks Shervon, in advance....

Just wondering... Did Jieqi go on air on Saturday (10 Mar)? I tuned in at around 2 pm and the jiu lian huan selection of songs was very 'Jieqi'. I thought he changed his shift. BUT, I had to switch off my receiver before I could hear the voice of the deejay. Then I didn't have a chance to tune in until 10+ pm. So.. the question is, did he go on air and at what time if he did? -

Hmm...I have to agree that Mali is one of the nicest and obliging deejays...but dun upset her lor...her songs all quite nice...watch out for the Mambo nite...12am to 1am...each week...I am an active chat member lar...Some programmes which i muz listen is Mali's programme and hala hala show...otherwise than tat...i tink the programmes quite sian leh.

Well, her first few songs ie. those just after 11pm seem to be particularly nice. As for mambo, it does bring back all the memories. As for the chat, I felt very left out so I didn't stay long. Figured that Mary's music is enough entertainment.
Most of us in this topic will strongly recommended you listen to Jieqi's time slot: 4-8 pm on Saturdays.

i noe i very bad lah, but recently the DJs seem to like to inject abit of japanese here and there...
...not that i can or cannot speak japanese, and not that i understand the language anot, but it kind of gets on my nerves lor.
y cannot speak mandrain with abit of english mixed into it...y cannot speak more than the usual oyasuminasi and jya-ne...i am typing this while listening to 933...a listener called in and taught xiao bin some japanese phrases...
...poor xiao bin, learning all the wrong phrases the listener taught her...hope that someone can correct her before she malu in front of someone who can speak the language...
but really lar...who dunno goodnite is oyasuminasai in japanese... cannot believe it, the listener taught xiao bin "oyasumi-sai" -
